Iris and Yaniv: A Second Wedding and a New Family

Iris and Yaniv knew they wanted an egalitarian Reform wedding in Israel. Both were beginning a second chapter after years of life experience, teenage children, and complex family stories.

Including the Children

They did not want a large formal event. They wanted a ceremony that honored their pasts, celebrated new love, and included the children in the family being formed. Iris gave Yaniv a ring as he gave her one; both broke a glass; and the children came beneath the chuppah to bless their parents.

Building a Family Together

Friends, family, children, and personal readings transformed the ceremony into a joyful, creative, and moving Jewish chuppah. It is a privilege to accompany couples who choose to begin again - with courage, love, and hope.
