Rabbi Naomi Efrat
Jewish Weddings & Bar/Bat Mitzvah Ceremonies in Israel

My husband and I were married in Israel in a deeply personal Reform Jewish wedding ceremony. I grew up in the Reform Jewish community in the United States, while my husband grew up Masorti in Israel. Naomi was able to bridge our different religious traditions, family cultures, and expectations with incredible sensitivity and wisdom. Planning a Reform wedding in Israel can come with challenges. Naomi navigated every conversation, question, and moment of opposition with grace, confidence, and deep respect for everyone involved.
But what made working with Naomi truly special was that she didn’t just officiate our Jewish wedding ceremony under the huppah, she guided us through the entire journey.
Over the course of our two-year engagement, which included the uncertainty and stress of wedding postponements, Rabbi Naomi Efrat was always there for us. She supported us through every stage of the process, spiritually, emotionally, and practically, helping us prepare not just for a wedding day, but for the next chapter of our life together. The ceremony itself was extraordinary. From the Ketubah signing to the Huppah ceremony, Naomi created an experience filled with meaning, warmth, and joy. She conducted the ceremony in both Hebrew and English, ensuring that all of our guests, from Israel and abroad, felt included and connected.
If you are looking for an English-speaking rabbi in Israel, a Reform rabbi for a Jewish wedding, or someone who can create a personalized, egalitarian Jewish wedding ceremony under the huppah, Rabbi Naomi Efrat is extraordinary.
There is no one else you would want standing beside you on such an important day.

I can’t help but be amazed by Rabbi Naomi Efrat.
My wife and I were married in Israel in May 2022, after two years of engagement and a postponed wedding during the Covid period. Because my wife is American, we were searching for an English-speaking rabbi in Israel who could guide us through a meaningful and personal Jewish wedding ceremony. We wanted someone thoughtful, sensitive, and able to lead a bilingual Hebrew–English wedding that truly reflected who we are. Finding Rabbi Naomi was one of the best decisions we made. The wedding preparation process with Naomi was deep, personal, and incredibly meaningful. She guided us through conversations about our relationship, our shared values, and our hopes for the future. Together, we even wrote our own Ketubah, creating a document that felt both Jewish, egalitarian, and personal.
I have attended many weddings, so I know how exhausting and overwhelming the ceremony itself can sometimes feel. With Rabbi Naomi leading our Jewish wedding ceremony, those moments, from signing the Ketubah to breaking the glass under the Huppah, became the most magical and unforgettable moments of our lives.
Naomi conducted our ceremony in both Hebrew and English, creating a space that felt inclusive for all of our guests. The ceremony was egalitarian, meaningful, and rooted in Jewish tradition, while also incorporating the personal elements that were important to us.
Her ability to weave together tradition, humor, warmth, and sensitivity made the entire ceremony feel authentic and deeply moving.
If you are looking for a Reform rabbi in Israel, an English-speaking rabbi for a Jewish wedding, or someone who can create a personalized, egalitarian huppah ceremony, I wholeheartedly recommend Rabbi Naomi Efrat.
Having Rabbi Naomi officiate our wedding was one of the greatest gifts we could have received.

From the very first phone conversation with Rabbi Naomi Efrat, we felt an immediate connection. There was an instant click: a warm, light, and joyful energy that made us feel completely comfortable. The connection came so naturally. Naomi took the time to get to know us as a couple: our story, our relationship, and the journey that brought us together. She helped us shape those moments into a personal and meaningful Jewish wedding ceremony, so that our love story could be expressed under the huppah in Israel in the most beautiful and moving way.
On the wedding day, Naomi attentive, calm, and supportive. She created an atmosphere of ease that allowed us to fully enjoy every moment. Our Reform huppah was magical and deeply emotional, yet at the same time light, flowing, and joyful. Weeks after the wedding, we are still receiving compliments from our guests. Many people told us how moving and powerful the wedding ceremony was, how it brought them to tears, and how it created a deep sense of connection among everyone present.
The ceremony gave the entire wedding a beautifully intimate atmosphere and made our guests feel part of the moment.
We wholeheartedly recommend Rabbi Naomi Efrat to any couple looking for a personalized Jewish wedding ceremony in Israel, a meaningful huppah led by a Reform rabbi, and a ceremony that is deeply moving, joyful, and unforgettable.

Thank you so much for the exciting and special Reform Bar Mitzvah ceremony you held for our son. You managed to excite us and our families.
You were able to find the right approach and face the challenge of preparing a child who grew up in California for a Reform Bar Mitzvah ceremony in Israel, in Hebrew. In such a short time you helped our son read tropes from the Torah and prepare a meaningful sermon with a real connection to everyday life. Our son enjoyed the event and with him the whole family, including the small children who participated in the ceremony in a charming way.
Thank you so much for the powerful and unforgettable experience 🙏🏽❤️!

The wedding cemerony and wedding preparation process were way better than we could have imagined. We are Israeli and got married in Greece. It was important for us to step out of the box, and create a ceremony that would contain the worlds we both come from: traditional and secular, Ashkenazi and Mizrachi, LGBTQ, activist, and simply ours.
Naomi was just there with us, all along the way.
From talking about our relationship, to writing a Ketubah that is genuinely ours, to the study of traditional aspects, to guidance as a Jewish wedding officient in Greece.
She understood us, really saw us, hugged us in the process. What a miracle for us to come upon her. Beyond anything else, the wedding itself helped us connect to the practice of rituals, traditions and specifically, our Jewish, egalitarian, lesbian Huppa.
In short - go for it. Don’t hesitate.

We met Rabbi Naomi Efrat for the first time three months before our wedding. We were one of those stressed couples who were scared that nothing would go smoothly, that our guests would not be satisfied or that the event would be disappointing.
Naomi's entry into our lives at this point in time made the whole process more relaxing and pleasant. Fear and uncertainty were replaced by joy and excitement. We felt that we became active in creating our wedding ceremony and that we were given the opportunity to design the huppa and wedding ceremony in the most exact way for us.
Naomi was patient and attentive to our story and our relationship ,and the way she managed to convey it to our families and friends in the ceremony was perfect. There was not one - guests, friends or family members - who was not moved by the Wedding Ceremony and the unique way in which Naomi engaged everyone.
We had a perfect wedding, undoubtedly one of the reasons for that is Rabbi Naomi Efrat and the Huppa ceremony she led.
Thank you for everything.

In short - don't think twice about getting married with Rabbi Naomi Efrat as your wedding officient! Besides the amazing connection we created with her, we received countless compliments on the Huppa and Naomi in particular. We came to Naomi Efrat after a long search for someone who would be the best fit for us. She knew how to bring who we are as a couple into the ceremony in the most authentic way. Her personality is a perfect combination of emotion, lightness, professionalism, and heart.
And let's also talk about the crazy process we went through with her! Besides the amazing Huppa ceremony, we had a fun and deep couple process with her that made us connect with the meaning of our wedding and build a foundation of values that will accompany us further down the road. Naomi has a crazy ability to give a feeling of comfort and calm and the connection with her was natural from the first day. We really couldn't have asked for anything better.
It was perfect ❤️

Wow! We had an incredible experience working with Naomi. From the very beginning, she took the time to truly get to know us—our story, our values, and what we dreamed our ceremony could be. Through this process, she also helped us understand ourselves and our journey together in a deeper way.
As a lesbian Trans couple, our story is unique. Cathrine grew up Muslim in Israel, and Yonit was raised male before transitioning. Finding someone who could hold space for our identities, our backgrounds, and our love felt almost impossible until we met Naomi. Naomi created a deeply personal and meaningful Reform Jewish wedding ceremony that honored our relationship and our individual stories. Her ability to craft a liberal, inclusive Jewish wedding made us feel completely seen, respected, and celebrated. Even beyond the ceremony, Naomi’s support has continued to impact our lives. We are still working with her today in an ongoing personal and relationship process, and her guidance has been invaluable.
If you are looking for a Reform rabbi for an LGBTQ wedding, an inclusive Jewish ceremony, or a liberal wedding in Israel, we cannot recommend Naomi enough. She brings wisdom, warmth, and genuine care to every couple she works with. - Cathrine and Yonit
Naomi Efrat officiated the marriage ceremony of our son and the love of his life with grace, eloquence and a master level flow between Hebrew and English. She is the most highly reccommended Reform wedding officient in Israel. We were fascinated by the beautiful ceremony.

Naomi is a woman of a rare and special breed. She prepared an amazing Huppa for us, which was 100% gender-balanced, witty and happy. One of the wonderful bonuses was that the Reform Huppa was held in both Hebrew and English for the great joy of my husband's American side. Naomi Efrat is totally one of those people who stay with you even after the event itself and hopefully for the rest of our lives.
